Finding your day-of-look is a very personal experience, and having the best support team there to help guide you ~in a helpful way~ is important. I suggest you bring a small group of people you really trust, who will give you their sincere and honest opinions.

 

Don't forget the more people you bring, the more opinions and personalities you will have to deal with!! We have room for up to 6 guests. 

We recommend you text us pictures or bring pictures of wedding dresses you have seen on our website or that you have tried on elsewhere and bring an open mind. Many of our brides select a wedding dress that they have never seen or tired on before. Also, don’t be surprised if you find “THE DRESS” on your first visit to The Southern Bride.

Absolutely! Not only do many brides find their wedding dress on their first visit to our boutique, but they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces, jewelry, etc.) on their first visit.

Our special order gowns start at $1,000 and range to just over $5,000. We offer a curated collection of unique gowns from around the world to industry icons. The majority of our gowns are between $1200-$2400.

 

If the budget is flexible, let us know that too! We HIGHLY discourage you from trying on gowns outside your budget. We don’t want our brides to leave disappointed because they fell in love with a gown out of their range.

We recommend ordering your gown 7 months to a year before your wedding day and here is why: each designer has different lead times with the average time taking 4-5 months, most gowns have to be altered so you need to account for a couple months of alterations and lastly, if you are doing bridals then your gown needs to be finished (alterations included) prior to those.

 

However, we do offer a few designers that are off-the- rack or offer a quick ship option so if your date is sneaking up and you don't have alot of time let us see what gown options we can provide.

Our sample sizes range from Size 8 to 30. We want to be inclusive to all brides. When shopping for a wedding gown sizing can be all over the place. Let's be real for a sec, bridal sizing is a complete JOKE! Ladies forget the size in the label and just go with what makes you look like and feel like a million bucks!


Every gown is special order, so we will take your measurements and can order anything from a Size 2 up to a Size 34.

Some designers will allow us to get a loaner gown for an additional $100 which is passed to you.

If we are ordering your dress, we will take your measurements and based on that designer’s size chart we will determine the size that will fit you best. A 65% deposit is required before we can order your dress.

 

We will keep you updated along the process so you will always know what stage your custom gown is in. When it arrives, we will bring you back in to try on, steam your gown and add any accessories you may want before you head to alterations.

We accept cash, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. Checks are not accepted. All sales are final. No refunds, exchanges or returns. A 65% deposit is required before we can order your dress.

We aid in selecting the size of your gown with you which is closest to your measurements according to that particular designers sizing chart. Since these are NOT EXACT custom measurements, almost all gowns will need some form of adjustment. We partner with many well reviewed seamstresses in our area; however, it is not included in the price of your gown.

Yes we do! Gowns and sizes very from designers and depending on current in-stock selection. We are happy to work with you if you are in a time crunch.
