I'm Kathryn Wylie

With over 25 years of retail experience and my love for the boutique setting and fashion goes back as far as I can remember. My mother was in the fashion industry when I was a little girl and can always remember her dressing up for fashion shows, fancy parties and wearing her furs. I defiantly hung close to fashion growing up and carried it to college. I attended Ole Miss studying Fashion Merchandising, loved working on the square in Oxford, opened my own boutique in Marion after college and now own Against The Grain Mercantile (Gift and Ladies Clothing Boutique).
How did we decide on Bridal? Well...
Bridal kind of found us. I would say a childhood dream and crazy timing brought us to purchase my great-grandparents 100 year old home that is now The Southern Bride. Having just been a bride myself in November, I fully understand the process and I know that buying your wedding gown can be emotional and stressful. I also know no two brides are the same. I learned a lot about what I wanted for our Brides while shopping for myself. I am passionate about fashion, customer experience and creating an unforgettable dress shopping experience.
Dress shopping is your 1st major milestone in the wedding planning process and I want it to be over the top exciting and memorable. You will be spoiled by your stylist whose sole focus will be to help YOU feel the most beautiful and confident while enjoying all the delights we have to offer. Our goal was to bring our brides the most amazing designs from around the world, from unique to classy while staying in a reasonable budget.
